Workland Scout ("Scout", "we", "us") is a free career-support platform operated by Workland HQ. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Scout, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated as you use Scout:

• Account details: your name, phone number (including your WhatsApp number), email address, and — where you sign in with Google — basic Google profile information.
• Career information: the content of CVs you upload or paste, job descriptions you submit, cover letters, job titles, and related career details you share with us.
• Usage information: records of your interactions with Scout (for example, analyses, rewrites and cover letters you request) so we can deliver and improve the service.
• Technical information: basic device and browser information, and notification subscription identifiers if you enable push alerts.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide Scout's features — analysing and rewriting CVs, generating cover letters, matching and alerting you to jobs, and coaching you.
• Maintain a single synced account across WhatsApp and the web so your history is available wherever you sign in.
• Send you job alerts and service messages on WhatsApp, browser/push, and email, according to your preferences.
• Operate, secure, and improve the platform.

To deliver CV analysis, rewrites and similar features, your CV text may be processed by trusted AI service providers acting on our behalf. We share only what is necessary to perform the task.

3. Bias protection in CV processing

When we rewrite CVs, we deliberately remove personal details that are not relevant to your suitability for a role — such as home address, age, date of birth, gender, marital status, and state of origin — to help protect you from bias. We retain professional details such as your email, phone, and relevant experience.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

• With trusted service providers who help us operate Scout (for example, AI processing, messaging, payment and hosting providers), bound to protect your data.
• Where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the platform.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

6. Your rights

In line with applicable Nigerian data-protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, and object to or restrict certain processing. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

Scout is intended for adults seeking employment. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
